Parking is available within the temple compound.
It's spacious enough to accommodate hundreds of vehicles, including tour buses.
The open air parking service operates from 7 am to 7 pm.
If you enter the temple compound before 7am or 7pm, you don't have to pay.
The parking barrier would be up to allow free passage of vehicles.
The parking rate, however, is very affordable - RM2 per entry.
This is considering the fact that Batu Caves is a top tourist attraction.
If you want parking space closer to the steps to the Cave temple, you would have to arrive early in the morning.
As time passes, parking space gets filled up and you may have to park a distance away and walk to the Cave Temple.
Parking is available to the public except during the Thaipusam season when it will be closed for about a week.
The parking area would be taken up by food and textile stalls among others.
During this period it's advisable to use public transport, particularly the train service.
