Although Batu Caves is a tourist attraction, it should also be regarded as a visit to one of the holiest Hindu shrines not only in Malaysia but also the world.



As such the 'proper dress code associated with visiting a temple should be followed


Chief among which is the dress code for females.


If you've visited temples in Thailand, you would understand what the dress code is all about it.

The Batu Caves dress code is very similar.

Even if you're a non-Hindu, please be reminded that you're a visitor who should respect your host's culture and custom.

While, your dress or attire may suit a visit to other tourist attractions, it would not go well if you're visiting a Hindu place of worship.

The general rule is don't use any attire that you would not use when visiting a place of worship associated with your religion.

In short, don't don revealing clothes.

That said, here's the general dress code for visitors 




Batu Caves Female Dress Code

No, short pants, hot pants, no short skirts. mini-skirts, clothes with low neckline, revealing shoulders.

Any skirt or blouse above the knees not allowed.

Allowed Batu Caves Dress Code

Shirt, T-shirt, long pants, Indian attire suitable for temple visit.

Warning! Pay for Proper Dress Code

If you're visiting the Cave Temple, please be properly attired. Otherwise you would be required to 'rent' sarongs and shawls at the entrance to the steps leading to the Cave Temple.
